    THURSDAY NIGHTS 
    JR High students (grades 6-8) meet on Thursdays at 7pm - 9pm. Thursday nights are a time to make new friends and build relationships. We like to have a lot of fun, and on a typical Thursday night we have some crazy game time, worship & prayer, and we learn more about God, His Word, and His love for us. Once a month we also have a larger event meant to build connections and memories! We're usually at Meadow Brook, but we can also be out and about on off-site events.     SUNDAY MORNINGS 

    JR High students, Grades 5/6-8*, meet on Sundays during the morning gatherings (*Parents, along with their Grade 5 student, can discern whether their child is ready to join our JR High Sunday Morning class or would like to remain in Children's Ministry for one more year. Please contact Renee Rocheleau, The Child and Youth Director, at renee@meadowbrook.ca for further questions or comments regarding this). We like to have fun together as we look into and learn from God's Word. The group is in the sanctuary at the beginning of the gathering as they participate in the worship time and leave half way through, led to their classroom by our wonderful teachers!

As you can expect when a bunch of high school-age people come together, it's generally very loud, fun, and crazy. The main purpose of Thursday nights, however, is to learn more about God, His Word, and His love for us.  On a typical Thursday night, we have some crazy game time, worship & prayer, and we spend time building intentional relationships during small groups, snack, and free time. Once a month we also have a larger event meant to build connections and memories!

    When we're at Meadow Brook, we're usually hanging out in our very own youth room or running around having fun. We can also be out and about on off-site events. Be sure to check our Ministry Calendar and our Facebook/Instagram pages for info on our events.

    Going deeper in the Word is a big part of what our youth ministry is all about. 
    Our Thursday night gatherings often include a night of worship and Life Groups - or Bible studies, interspersed with larger event nights.  On these nights, we all come together and worship in our youth room. Following the worship time, we split up into groups by age and gender called Life Groups, with the purpose of getting into the Word and learning more about God.

    Things can get busy at MBYouth and we try to make sure everyone is always up to speed on what's going on. We have a parent email list to communicate upcoming event details, reminders, ministry needs and much more.     Communication with parents is essential to ensure important info is shared and to ensure we are partnering effectively with parents.
    Throughout the year, we hold meetings open to all parents during which we share updates on what's happening in the ministry.

    A parents team, called the Parents Support Team, also exists as a means to continue to have healthy communication with parents. The committee is made up of a few parents and its goal is to act as a sounding board, a source of feedback and input from all parents, and a bridge between parents and the ministry leadership. Some of the practical purposes the team will serves include: 
    • new ideas or initiatives being explored and developed for the youth ministry will be subjected to input, feedback, and recommendations from the Parents Support Team
    • the team will provide recommendations and feedback when changes or adjustments are needed in all areas of the youth ministry already in motion
    • the team will provide feedback on any and all matters related to the youth ministry on behalf of all other parents
    The team meets every six to eight weeks. All parents at Meadow Brook will be notified in advance before each meeting to allow time for all parents to connect with the members of the Parents Support Team if there are things that need to be communicated or discussed at our meetings.

    It takes a team for things at MBYouth to run smoothly! There are a lot of moving parts and a lot of students to connect with. The MBYouth leadership team works hard to connect with the students, to help them grow closer to God, and to be a source of support and encouragement.
